The Land of Judaism

Jewish learning is emerging as a powerful force in contemporary culture, fostering
identity and unity among Jews. Yesterday’s challenge was to get people
interested in Jewish learning. Today we must also find new and creative ways to
service those that already are. In cooperation with the TorahLab Foundation The
Galilee Institute’s Land of Judaism program introduces students of all affiliations
to the study of Judaism in a new and innovative fashion that not only stimulates the
mind, but provides graduates with original tools to continue to grow in their own
knowledge and be able to pass on that knowledge to their friends, family,
colleagues, peers and community.

The Land of Judaism is based on the fact that:

Since Biblical times there has been a constant Jewish presence in the land
of Israel.
Since Biblical times there has been documented ongoing movements of
Aliyah (immigration) to the Land of Israel.
Throughout history there has been clear acknowledgement of all the worlds'
major nations and empires that Israel is the Jewish homeland.

The Land of Judaism takes an in-depth look at the continuous historical
connection between Jewish civilization and the Land of Israel through a
comprehensive study of Jewish History and Jewish Philosophy along with a far-
reaching exploration of  the breadth and depth of Judaism.

Students will explore empirical records from the Patriarchs through the Holocaust
and will gain a broad perspective which will allow for the assessing of the relevant
issues affecting the Jewish people and the modern State of Israel today.

Program Director: Rabbi Yaacov Haber

The Galilee Institute/TorahLab Learning Kollel
